Q: What is included in the session fee and when is it due?
A: The session fee includes a pre-session consultation [via phone or in person], the photography session, and image preparation. The fee is due at the time a session is booked, and holds your time and place. Please note that the session fee is non-refundable. However, in the event you need to reschedule [or due to weather], fees are transferable to a new date and time.
Q: What is a pre-session consultation and why do I even need one?
A: When you book a session, we will schedule a time to either meet, talk on the phone, or video chat. The pre-session consultation is important because if gives me insight to many details including: locations that may be appropriate, likes/dislikes of the individuals being photographed, ideas for clothing to wear, session length, your expectations [if any], etc.
We will also go over the prints and products that I offer. Maybe you have a specific wall in your home that you want to fill with the session images. Maybe you are planning to give some of the images as gifts. Maybe you aren’t even sure what you want! These things are important for me to keep in mind before and during the photo shoot.
Q: When do you schedule sessions?
A: I offer weekday and weekend session times. The time of day is very important in outdoor photography. I like to shoot an hour or two before the sun goes down. The light at this time of the day is fantastic and will give you some wonderful images. If this time of day is not convenient for you, we can discuss additional times.
Q: What about if the weather doesn’t cooperate?
A: If the weather goes awry, and forces us to reschedule the session, you will get the next available session time that fits both of our schedules.
Q: What if I need to reschedule?
A: I understand that sometimes things just happen that aren’t planned … we get sick, our kids fall and scrape their chin, etc. I do ask that, if possible, you call me 24-48 hours before your session. This gives me time to contact someone else who may be waiting for an opening. We will then re-schedule your session when everyone is feeling better or the scrapes are healed!
Please remember, session fees are non-refundable but can transfer to a different day if needed.
Q: How do I schedule a session with you?
A: You can either fill out the Contact Me tab on my website or you can call me at 215.661.0213. We will find a date for the photo session that works with our schedules, and will either schedule a time to meet for a pre-session consultation or to talk on the phone. The session fee is due as soon as the session date is scheduled. This fee will hold your session date and time.
Q: Where is a good place to have my photography session?
A: After getting to know a little about you and your likes/dislikes and personality, I can help suggest a place that would most reflect you or your family’s personality. Do you like the outdoors? Did you get engaged downtown and like the night life? Do you prefer grunge and like the metal garage door type? I have lots of ideas that I’m happy to share with you. We’ll find the perfect place for you and your needs!
Q: What do we wear? What can we bring?
A: This is a very popular question. We will talk about this more specifically when we meet or talk during your pre-session consultation.
I like to tell people that they should wear what they are comfortable in. Wear whatever fits your [or your family’s] personality. Are you a jeans and T-shirt type of person? Do you like to dress up? Are you somewhere in between? The thought is that you don’t want to wear something that isn’t “you”. Whether it is a group or a couple that we’re photographing, try to coordinate outfits. That doesn’t mean “matchy-matchy”. It just means that whatever you are wearing should work well together. Try to avoid large patterns, flowers, stripes, logos, etc.
Any item that is meaningful to you or your child can be brought to the photo session. This can include a favorite toy, book, rocking chair, basket, etc.
Q: How long will my session last?
A: Allow at least an hour to an hour and a half. I do not rush you or your kids and I allow for some time to get used to the setting and each other.
Q: How long does it take before I can see the images from our session?
A: You can expect your images to be posted in a password protected gallery within one to two weeks after your portrait session. A few days before posting your gallery, I will upload some of the shots from the session on my blog.
Q: After viewing my gallery, how do I order/purchase prints and/or products?
A: It’s probably most helpful if you keep in mind where you would like to display your prints and how you want to display them. If you have a spot above your fireplace that you would like to show off your family, measure the space first so that you know what size you will need to order. I am more than happy to come to your house to help you with this if it seems too overwhelming. Next, you will need to decide what you want your print to look like: framed photograph, stand out, foam core, gallery print, etc. [I can also help you with this!] To order your prints/products, click on the “client proofs” tab on my website/blog. Find your album and double click on it. When you hover over any image, it will show you the number of the image, and have a circle where you can “select” the image. After choosing each image that you would like to purchase, jot down the number of the image and the size of print and/or product you would like to purchase. You can either send this information to me via email, or call me on the phone at 216.661.0213.
Q: What type of products do you offer?
A: I am proud to offer a variety of superior quality products for your beautiful portraits. The most popular products include: prints, gallery wraps, fine art acrylics, canvas, statuettes, custom holiday/greeting cards/announcements, accordion books, mini books, and albums. We can discuss these products during our pre-session consultation.
Q: How long does it take to get my order after it has been placed?
A: It depends on the prints/products that you order. Most items can be ready in about 2 weeks.
Q: What type of payment do you accept?
A: At this time I accept cash or check [made out to “Teri Klinger”].
